I took the first step toward publishing my art-marketing book. I hired a writing coach. Cynthia Morris is wonderful (I first took a class from her at Colorado Free University)! I knew she was the one who could help me put together a book proposal.
So, I’m going to be intensely focused on this book proposal over the next four months. My goal is to have a draft completed by December 31.
What is the book? As of this moment, it’s looking like a self-promotion handbook for artists. Yes, this information exists in some other books, but I think the way it’s being presented isn’t very practical. In some instances, it could actually be harmful if you follow the advice.
It will include a great deal of my e-book, Cultivating Collectors, much of which doesn’t exist in any other form for artists.
The upshot: This information needs to get out there and I need your help. I’d love to know:
- Advice and practical tips you haven’t been able to find that would help you with your art career.
- Wat you wish was presented in a different manner.
- The worst advice you ever had.
- The best advice you ever had.
- Quick reviews of art biz books that are already on your shelf.
Fire away! You can help me make this book more practical and more valuable to all artists.
Why am I telling you this? Because I need you to hold me accountable. The mere fact I’m sharing this with you means I’m more likely to accomplish my goal. Of course, I can also use your support.
Of course, I’ll have other things to deal with at the same time–like the not-to-be-missed Gain the Edge in Today’s Art Market workshop on October 29-30. Still, this book is my Frog. This is the most important thing I can do right now that can get me closest to my ultimate goals.
