Mail Those Cards and Letters

Postage rates go up on January 8. It will cost $.39 to mail a letter in the U.S. and $.24 to mail a postcard. UGH!

Maybe that’s why Modern Postcard is having a 20% off sale through December 31. I’m trying desperately to get an order in during this sale. It’s a considerable savings for those of us who use a lot of postcards!

Use up those old stamps by mailing as many as you can now--before January 8!

Speaking of which . . . Have you written your thank-you notes? Handwritten notes are essential to being a professional in any business. Try to get them done within two weeks of receiving a gift of any kind (friends, family, or someone who helps you with your art business).

Relocating my business three times since 1982, this December was my first postcard mailing with the intent of reminding past clients of my existence. Thank you for the warning that not all postcards are graciously accepted. Recently, I have begun showing my sculpture in local galleries. Is it a good idea to have the same people on a mailing list for another aspect of a business, and how often is too much.
