So, I’m heading off to Michigan tomorrow for an Art Marketing Action workshop. Leaving a day early so I can drop in the Detroit Institute of Art on Friday. I’ll let you know what I find.
In the meantime, I’ve been trying to tie up loose ends. Got the newsletter to my Web guru a full two days early. Even got my Art Marketing Action Circles lining up nicely. (Did I tell you how excited I am for these?)
And I created four postdated blog entries that will appear on this very page without my having to think about it. I just wish I could count on the fact that Feedblitz is sending out the updates to my subscribers. I haven’t received anything from them since 4/24 and there is nothing on their site. Hrumph!
More from me on the road (or, in the air, as the case may be).

If you are going to the Detroit Institute of Art, don’t miss the magnificent Diego Rivera murals- there is almost nothing like them in the country. We are living in a time when the art world likes to ignore ordinary working people as a springboard for important art. Rivera’s paintings remind us that this is a temporary detour from one of the major themes in visual art through the ages. Art isn’t always just what the very wealthy say it should be.
Thanks, Philip. I’m also very excited to see Whistler’s Nocturne in Black & Gold!
Ditto to Philip’s comment. The DIA is a gem–one of my favorite U.S. museums. They have an incredible Artemisia Gentileschi in their collection, well worth a look.
