As I mention in Art Marketing Action, a newsletter is a terrific way to stay in touch with your buyers and collectors.
If you can’t commit to starting a newsletter right now, at least do this:
Create a file labeled “Newsletter Ideas.” Stuff it with things you come across that you find interesting; stories you want to tell; tips you’d like to share; and designs you find appealing.
You can also make files in Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Entourage to keep your e-ideas. For example, I have folders in Entourage broken down into “topic ideas” and “images to use” for my newsletter. I drop in emails that are relevant. You could do the same thing for your artist newsletter. (Click on the screen shot to see how I save emails in subject folders in Entourage.)
When you need to put together a newsletter, it’s all in one place and ready to go!
If you have a newsletter that I didn’t mention in today’s Art Marketing Action, please leave the Web address with your comment below so we can take a peek.
