BUSINESS OF ART AND DESIGN
Full-time faculty appointment at the Ringling School of Art and Design
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will: assume a leadership role in developing the Business of Art and Design program with some teaching; conduct research and make recommendations related to curriculum development, including potential partnerships with business and industry; provide oversight for planning, budgeting, staffing and enhancing relationships and collaborations with both internal and external constituencies; ensure that teaching excellence and innovative programs are continued priorities; review and strengthen the minor curriculum; participate in institutional
governance and advising of students.
Qualifications
Required: Only applicants possessing the following qualifications will be considered:
- MBA Degree or an appropriate terminal degree and experience that demonstrates the ability to
- lead a program in the Business of Art and Design
- Evidence of college teaching experience other than TA/GA
- Proven record of professional achievement in visual art or design-related business
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills
Preferred: In addition to the above, preference may be given to candidates who have:
- BFA, MFA, or coursework in art/design, or studio art/design practice
- Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in a higher education setting

- Experience in developing evolving digital marketing communications
- Ability to recognize and conceptualize emerging trends in the business of art and design
- Ability to enhance relationships and collaborations with internal and external constituents
