I couldn't agree more with Alyson that Blogging can be instrumental in helping an artists grow their businesses. I also admit it is time-consuming to get a blog set up to give it a professional look and to learn how to post, administer and publicize the thing. Still, I believe that outside of personally meeting a collector, there is no better way for an artist to convey something about themeselves that can motivate collectors and galleries to buy their work. The Internet is becoming what is known as a disruptive force in the world of marketing. It's power to reach and influence people is growing while other traditional means of marketing, save word-of-mouth, are declining. If you agree with that notion, then you should pay attention to the article titled, "Why Google Blog Search Matters to Your Business." You can read it at: http://www.internetseer.com/services/article.xtp?id=26148 You may need to copy and paste the above link into your browser to find it. It's a quick read that explains how Google is now ranking blogs and how a blog with high rankings drives traffic and rankings for Web pages.
