I just received this news from Julie Kolka, Manager of Public Relations and Partnerships at
The Guild, Inc.:
Thank you so much for posting information about our "Art of Inspiration" competition [see note below] on your blog. It helped to generate a lot of interest among artists, so I thought you might like an update. More than 600 images were entered into the competition, and the jury, led by David A. Ross, chose 10 finalists from among those entries. The finalists’ images are now posted on our Web site for the public voting phase of the competition.
They can be viewed (and voted on) at http://printcompetition.artfulhome.com through May 15.
From their website:
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the winning print will
benefit The Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s "Artist and Sense of Place"
program which places artists in New Orleans schools. There they work
with the entire student body to create works of art that reflect the
children’s world. Each residency concludes with a museum exhibition of
the resulting work, which boosts the children’s self-esteem by helping
them to recognize themselves as artists.
I cast my vote and entered my name in the drawing. Hope you’ll do the same.
