Hi Alyson, I'm just now titling some new works. I knew I'd missed this podcast and am very thankful that I could come back to it for help. Now I know that "Heavenly Columbine" is a better title than "Columbine No. 2" for most viewers. Thanks, Thomas Robert Frederick Floral Photo Art with Hand-Painted Light <http://www.ThomasRobertFrederick.com/>

I used to have lots of trouble comming up with titles, of course I also used to have lots of trouble getting much art done! I followed the process in a book called Painting From the Source (paintingfromthesource.org), and started painting for 30 min to 1 hour every day, I get more done in 1 hour than I used to in 2-3 months of painting! So, I decided I would be better off painting than spending time thinking up titles. When I began putting my new work on my web site I found titles just immediately poped into my head as soon as I looked at the piece, it took no time at all! Now all my work is titled, and it is definately much easier to talk about work that is titled! I think if you are relaxing and really making your art creation process an internal experience, titles will naturally come!
