For fun: What is art?

by Alyson Stanfield on March 5, 2008

This is a darling video: funny, charming, and thought-provoking. It’s 7 minutes of fun to watch when you need to be entertained. (Thanks, Audry.)

Update: Tina Mammoser left this comment: For those that don’t know the Creature Comfort series, it’s real people
they’ve interviewed on the street and things, then they go back and
create animations to match the interviews. Truly an art!

So! Art is a lizard, doing stand-up, in Mexico. I wondered about that… And now my mind is at ease

Amazing! Too much fun! I love the warmth of delivery; folksy and accessible. And the cameo characters- so recognizable, so well done! And out of their mouths, and beaks and snouts come pearls of wisdom, and humor. I dunno about the fart joke at the end though- I don’t think toucans fart that loudly. Other than that the accuracy is astonishing! ;) What a great presentation!!! Thanks so much!

I posted this around Christmas I think – it’s fab! I love the printmaker dog the best. :D For those that don’t know the Creature Comfort series, it’s real people they’ve interviewed on the street and things, then they go back and create animations to match the interviews. Truly an art!

Lest we take ourselves too seriously… I’ve sent a link of this to many artist friends. Thanks!
