Create a Web album at Picasa

Check out this cool Web album (generated by Picasa) on Hilary Pfeifer's blog. It's a documentation of "Bunnywood," her current show at the Portland Museum of Contemporary Craft. It looks like a terrific way to share your images on your blog and create a more dynamic page. Hopefully, it's easy, too! (Too bad the museum's page isn't nearly as interesting. You'd never know about the richness of the installation if you visited their site.)

Hilary was my guest last month for one of the INSIGHTS sessions. We talked about production work vs. fine art, artist residencies, and the twenty years she has been making  a living as an artist. Read about it. Picture 1

  • Thanks for the nice mention, Alyson! I use Google’s Picasa for albums–they make it very easy to post it to the blog and share it with others. I also like the neutral look of their format, with only a tiny logo in the corner. I also use their uploader tool, which is available with a free download.

  • Thanks again Alyson, This is great information. Just this morning I was able to build a beautiful little slide show for both my blog and the main page of my web-site. I’m using it as a thank you to everyone who has been so helpful in making this year my best ever. http://michaelorwick.blogspot.com/

  • Hilary: Thanks for sharing it with us! So, can something like this be done with Flickr? Maybe it’s not as handsome. Michael: Good job! Very handsome presentation.

Enjoyed Hilary’s site and her talented whimsical work very much, plus that album definitely delivers an impact. Thank you Alyson. This was perfect timing because I opened a Picassa account last week for this purpose, but not had time to incorporate its use yet. Plus, I had not seen it used on an artist’s site. Your wealth of info and suggestions is greatly appreciated.
