Blank Journals at Borders

Anyone who has worked with me knows I stress language skills–developing better communication techniques to reach bigger audiences for your art. One way to do this is through journaling. No one has to see it but you. The important thing is to get the ideas out of your head and onto the paper in order to free up space for creativity.

I was just at Borders and they have these fantastic blank, lined journals in 3 sizes–ranging from small, to about 5×8", to a full 8.5×11". The largest one is only $5.99. They are also plain black rag on the outside, so you can spiff them up if you find the time. Anyway, I thought they were enough of a bargain that I wanted to share them with you.

BTW, I found them NOT with the journals, but near the check-out area on a special sales table. And they had a lot of them.

I have to agree with you that journaling can increase your communication skills. I recently read a book entitled “Writing and Being” by G. Lynn Nelson that has excellent writing suggestions for both writers and journalers. It also points out ways you can use your personal writings to enhance your public and formal writing. The book is very short, and not a challenging read by any means, but the content is certainly top notch. It really demonstrates how journaling can enhance your ability to communicate.

  • Thanks for the recommendation, Ry. I’ll definitely be checking it out.
