Leaving your work at a gallery or other venue?

Just got an email from a client that reminded me . . .

If you take your work to a venue because they’ve asked to see it in person and then they ask you to leave it there, make sure you have something in writing. Always get your art business stuff in writing!

It should say the title, dimensions, and value of each piece you’re leaving (great if you have a photo printout of it). It should also state that the venue agrees to insure the work while they have it in their possession and it should not leave that space without your written consent.

Include a place for both parties to sign.

What else am I forgetting?

It just makes me nervous for you to leave any of your work anywhere without a record of the transfer of care.
